Well, certainly, playing english games may help you develop some english knowledge. But only vocabulary >_< Games won't teach you any grammar) It's better to study english properly.

2) Using the google-translator not so bad, because it allow us to get an equivalent of english words faster then simple dictionary. Also it helps in construction of sentences.

English is not puzzle, that need to decrypt. This is language. And as any other language, it need to be learned. Not only because of reading texts or playing games, but because of studying it through textbooks or online, I have already said that.

Heh, I started studying english when I was six years old after playing Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis! I had no idea what to do because I barely understood the dialogs, so you can say that this game was the main reason why I started studying this language, it's still one of my favourite games of all times and I often replay it when I'm bored!
I sometimes wish I had that much enthusiasm for chinese)))
